On August 5, 1951, a group of believers led by Dayton Hobbs, having broken fellowship with the Methodist Church, held their first worship services in Pace, Florida, and called the church the Independent Methodist Church.  In June of 1953, the name of the fellowship of believers was changed to The Independent Bible Church.  In January of 1959, the fellowship, having purchased and refurbished the old Odd Fellows Hall in Bagdad, Florida, moved there and changed the name of the church to The Gospel Tabernacle.  It was here in March of 1961 that the outreach ministry of the Church known as Gospel Projects, Inc. was established and chartered.  In the fall of 1962, the Church opened its Day School ministry, Santa Rosa Christian School.  In August of 1967 the Church, with all its ministries, moved to its new and present facilities located in Milton, Florida, and the Church name was changed to Grace Fellowship Church.  The paper, "The Projector" was first published in 1972 as a ministry of the Church.  In 1991, the church's name was changed to Grace Bible Church.  Since the church's beginning to its fiftieth anniversary in August of 2001, Dr. Dayton Hobbs was its Pastor. He served as Senior Pastor until his passing on December 19, 2006.

Is Established Upon The Following Creed

We believe that whatever the Bible says is true which means that we believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments in the original autographs.  We believe that the Bible is infallible and authoritative and is our only rule for faith and practice.  We believe that man was created by the direct act of God and in the image of God.  We believe that Adam and Eve in yielding to the temptation of Satan became fallen creatures.  We believe that all men are born with a sinful nature.  We believe in the Incarnation, the Virgin Birth, and the Deity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  We believe in His vicarious and substitutional Atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the Cross.  We believe in the resurrection of His body from the tomb, His ascension to Heaven, and that He is now our Advocate.  We believe in His power to save men from sin.  Because all men are sinners and, therefore, dead in trespasses and sin, we believe in the necessity of the New Birth, and that this New Birth is through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit.  We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in the atoning blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  We believe that a person must demonstrate "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21) in order to be saved.  We believe in the premillennial return of Christ to rapture His Church and then, following the Great Tribulation on earth, His return to earth in power and glory to rule and reign for a thousand years.
